Chapter 1- A Brand New Life

"CloudTail, come on, you're as slow as a snail!", the purple furred, black marked adolescent shouted, running through the forest in between the hot springs.
"Well excuuuse me!", the pure white wolf said, just a few days younger than the purple one. He began to run quicker to catch up.
"Wait for me!", the hazel wolf with a sun and moon marking fussed, months younger than the other two.
"Wow, Solluna, you're slower than me!", the white wolf said as he paused at a clearing, waiting for his little sister.
"Well it takes a wolf time to look this beautiful.", the hazel one pouted, fluffing up the shoulder-length fur atop her head.
"Ha! You wouldn't know what beauty was if you were its creator!", the white one laughed, a competitive look on his face.
"Oh  yeaah?", the hazel one whined, shoving her wet nose into the white ones.
"You betcha!", he spat, his eyes narrow and a large smile stretching across his muzzle.
"Well daddy told me that I'm just as beautiful as ma was.", the hazel one smiled, turning around and stepping forward with passion, her tail curling up.
"How much ya wanna bet she was butt-ugly?", the white one grunted, plopping himself down to sit, his face with one eye wide, the other narrow, and a tight frown to top it off.
"Hey you two, I remember your ma, and she looked almost exactly the same as mine.", the purple one said, trying to put an end to the argument.
"How do we know your ma wasn't butt-ugly?", the white one loudly and impolitely asked. He turned his head in the purple wolf's direction.
"Well if Solluna looks anything like her ma, and her ma looks like my ma, then there's tellin' ya the truth.", the purple one said, his eyes closed proudly.
"Well then that says it. She's as butt-ugly as my lil' sis here.", the white one chuckled. He pounced on his sister, stuck his tongue out, and began to let his sober dangle off of his tongue, just waiting for it to fall on his sister's face.
"Help me, help me! There's a crazy old man trying to kill me! Heeeelp!", the pinned wolf pleaded.
"CloudTail!", the purple one shouted. The white wolf sucked up his slobber and looked over to his friend, still pinning his little sister.
     "Whadya want, Kaiba?", he barked.
"Remember the golden rule?", the purple one answered. "Treat others the way you want to be treated."
"Shut up, Mr. SmartyPants.", the white one snapped. "Mr. I'mTooGoodForMyFrieeends!" He put his two front paws together and batted his eyelashes.
"Quit it. I just don't wanna get in trouble with your old man again.", the purple one snapped back.
"Kaiba, CloudTail, Solluna, get back into your boundaries, you three!", a strict voice shouted loudly, birds fleeing from the trees.
"Uh-oh. Looks like we already are.", the hazel one whispered.
"Yeah, let's go.", the white one agreed.
"Yeah.", the purple wolf said. Then the three ran out of the forest and onto the flattened beautiful green grass of the pack boundaries, and into the large, black pack Chief; none other than Aborahk Rose.
"Kaiba." He looked at the purple one. "And CloudTail." He looked at the white one. "Hunting training begins for you today."
The two nodded and ran off to play somewhere by the river.
"And Solluna." He looked at the hazel wolf. "You and Yoma are going out to the flower meadows today."
"Yay!", Solluna cheered, her tail wagging ferociously behind her. Aborahk smiled and told her to go meet with Yoma, the wisest and oldest wolf of the pack. But before she ran off, she asked, "Was mommy beautiful?"
"You'll know soon enough.", Aborahk answered. "And when that time comes, you be a good big sister, okay?"
But Solluna didn't answer. She smiled largely and hurried away to find Yoma without another word.
                                       ▬●▬
"But I don't wanna learn how to hunt! I've never liked it, I never will.", Kaiba complained, walking side by side with CloudTail. The purple wolf was on the left closest to the river beside them. It flowed very slowly, but the sunlight that lied amongst it made the water sparkle, its tiny waves dancing in the warm spring wind. Kaiba's light purple fur seemed as though to be mimicking the water's choreography. CloudTail watched in wonder and tilted his head as he worked out the question he'd partially ignored.
"Oh, uhhh.", CloudTail said after Kaiba had shot him an 'I'm expecting an answer' kind of look. "Maybe, uhhh, maybe you'll learn to like it."
"Not the answer I was looking for, Cloud.", Kaiba mumbled. He sat at the edge of the grass and stared down at his reflection in the river. "Could you convince your old man to let me skip hunting lessons?"
"It doesn't work that way, Kaiba. Every wolf needs to learn how to hunt if they're going to get anywhere with life.", CloudTail explained.
"Yeah, whatever.", Kaiba growled to himself. "I just wish I could start over again, with a brand new life, ya know, to possibly still have a mother. And maybe to rule my own country of Paralellium. That would be the best. A brand new life."
